Theresa Drews is the director of House Operations and Programs at the Ronald McDonald House Charities North Central Florida where she leads a team of staff and volunteers to meet the needs of each guest family and provide a standard of hospitality. Drews said Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida was given over 22,000 hours of volunteer service by hundreds of community volunteers.

“Those hours represent thousands of meaningful experiences and significant human connections. I connect the dots between people who need help and those who want to help,” Drews said. “I help coordinate [and] create diverse opportunities for people in our community to serve our families and, in doing so, help provide positive and impactful experiences for many.”

Drews is the first person in her family to go to college. Afterward, she became an English teacher and coach. Naturally, Drews admires Oprah for her generosity, vulnerability and the way in which she offers hope to many. Not unlike her hero, Drews also offers what families need the most.

“We offer smiles, help and hope,” Drews said.
