Joe Lowry, Sr. helps his clients achieve simplicity.

Lowry, Sr. believes that his mission as a financial advisor is to bring clarity to complex issues affecting individuals, families and institutions, thereby helping them to improve their quality of life.

“Our credo is: If it’s important to you, it’s important to us,” Lowry said.

The Miami native began serving clients in South Florida more than 35 years ago when he founded The Lowry Group. In 1989, he and his family relocated to Gainesville.

Lowry Financial Advisors, Inc., a fee-based, independent advisory firm, was formed in 2000. As a private firm, Lowry Financial Advisors has no obligation to anyone other than its clients.

“I have no agenda when I meet with potential clients,” Lowry said. “My goal is to get to know them, listen to their concerns and then model a portfolio that works with who they are.”

The firm was registered as a Registered Investment Advisor in 2004 to reflect the formal positioning of Joseph E. Lowry, Jr., as a full partner in the firm. In 2008, Lowry, Jr. was named managing partner.

“The highlight of my day is the opportunity to work with my son,” Lowry said.

He said that Lowry, Jr. brings a younger, more analytical perspective to the table, while he has a more intuitive approach to investing. Because they work together on all of their accounts, clients benefit from the mix of the two approaches.

Lowry stressed that they both are on the same page and are completely compatible regarding their values and concerns for doing what’s right for each client. Lowry said that his – and his son’s – role is to help put their clients’ affairs in order so that their clients can enjoy their families, careers, hobbies and anything else that is important to them.

Lowry’s clientele is serious about money, wants above average returns and wants to take little risk. Because of that, he focuses on quality when identifying investment opportunities.

“You do not have to take unneeded risk to get a good return,” Lowry said.

Lowry Financial Advisors has about 250 individual and corporate client relationships in 20 states and Latin America. Lowry is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Both he and Lowry, Jr. are graduates of Brigham Young University.
